We don’t believe in a project-based mentality.
But, we do want to share with you our impact.

Konbit Haiti started as an idea in 2010. It became a non-profit in 2014.
Our faith compels us, our dreams are big, and we are committed to every single step of the development process in rural Haiti.

We collaborate through Community-Led Development

  • Community members express concern, thoughts, and ideas about a problem.

  • Community leaders are present & gather to share thoughts.

  • Community leaders and Konbit Haiti Staff come up with a plan...

  • ...which community leaders implement...

  • ...along side the community.

Some of the ways we are partnering with Local leaders…

  • Environmental Programs

Our first program, started in 2011, was our water and sanitation (W.A.S.H.) program.
Then called Justice Water, we trained and mobilized over 100 Haitians over the first two years of inception.

In 2014, after years of training indigenous Haitians to do simple, lo-tech water projects, 5 leaders graduated from our Director Training.

Since 2014, our Directors have served rural communities tirelessly. Often building roads or finding alternative forms of transportation, we have seen over 36,000 people gain access to clean water and sanitation in communities in Haiti with simple and replicatible technologies.

Our environmental programs are created to protect environmental resources of Haitian communities. Our water and sanitation program provides appropriate water technologies that are replicable:
    rain catchment tanks
    latrines
    hand washing stations
    RUS pumps and well coverings
    biosand filters
We also have an ongoing moringa farm co-op program which encourages the growth of local trees.

  • Leadership + Business Programs

Business is an underutilized resource of the country of Haiti. We have been running small business classes and seminars out of our facility since 2015. This has helped launch countless small businesses that help give families autonomy and control over their lives.

We also have two ongoing businesses, as well as a part-time co-op:
    Moringa Farming Co-Op
    Women’s Sewing Co-Op
    Coffee Co-Op

We have raised up hundreds of leaders through our various programs with Konbit Haiti.
    Here’s how:
Water and Sanitation Program Training + Graduation
    Pastor’s Coalition Monthly Meetings
    Volunteer Program
    Teen Empowerment Program
    Small Business Start-Ups
    Think Tanks
    Community Development Training
    Health Seminars
    …and more

  • Family Development Programs

Family is at the heart of so much of what we do with Konbit Haiti. Keeping families together involves all kinds of supplemental services. We provide many of those and have gradually added on since our inception in 2013.

Our program started with 10 teenagers in the spring of 2013

Our family director, Clelie, has been working with Haitian communities and children since she was an older child herself. Her program with Konbit Haiti has grown from 30 children to nearly 200 each week. Children are taught valuable life skills, sports, and more.

We offer a large number of programs throughout the year.

    5-week summer camp
    Mother’s Day Program
    Christmas Camp
    Christmas Day Program
    Parental Supplemental Support

    …and more!
