David Sanon,

Environmental Branch Director

David was born and raised in Montrouis, Haiti. He came from humble beginnings but always knew he wanted to help his community. In 2010, he and his local friends founded a Haitian-run group focusing on the protection of natural resources. They banned together to teach schools and churches about protecting water resources and successfully protected a local source from contamination.

David was trained in water technology and sanitation by the Robinsons and Jesselyn Prophet, whom he’d later partner with to start Konbit Haiti. He spent years traveling with this team of people who provided clean drinking water and sanitation to communities. He also spent 6 months in training in missions and community development in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

He moved back to Haiti, married his high school sweetheart and making his family more cohesive with their daughter, Leira in tow. He and his wife are responsible for Konbit Haiti’s moringa operation, supporting small farms and Haitian economy. He and his wife have two kids, Leira and Mike.

David enjoys music, going to the beach, and spending time with his family and friends.

David now spends his time educating locals about lo-tech water and sanitation solutions in places off the map, in the mountains behind our community center. He is passionate, driven, and strategic in his service to these communities.
