THE SOLUTION: COMMUNITIES WALKING TOGETHER

We Believe We Are Stronger Together

Men anpil, chay pa lou.
— Many hands make the load light.

Konbit is a traditional Haitian practice rooted in agricultural collaboration, where neighbors come together to cultivate each other’s land. It’s more than a method, it’s a way of life. As families take turns helping one another, trust deepens, needs are met, and entire communities grow stronger. Over time, those who once received support become the ones offering it. This rhythm of giving and receiving fosters resilience, dignity, and belonging.

The spirit of konbit—mutual aid, solidarity, and collective transformation is at the heart of our work. It's a cultural ethic that reminds us that lasting change happens when communities walk together toward a shared vision of flourishing.

At Konbit Haiti, we’ve witnessed the profound impact of this model. It has allowed communities not just to survive but to transform and thrive. And it’s not limited by geography. Whether in a coastal town in Alabama, a suburb in France, a city in Canada, a rural village in Haiti, or a batay in the Dominican Republic, each of us holds the capacity to join in this shared work of restoration.

We are neighboring communities—interwoven in purpose—called to join the konbit and build something lasting, together.

Our programs are designed to unite communities in the pursuit of long-term, transformative change. We walk alongside children and families, local leaders, and entire neighborhoods—collaborating with like-minded organizations and deeply rooted in partnership with the local church.

Together, we create environments where dignity is restored, leadership is cultivated, and potential is realized.
